• The core theme of Matthew Trueman’s exhibit, “Voices in A Cool Wet Darkness” is our relationship with the landscape.
  • What is remembered of a landscape when we plow over it? What do we want to prioritize moving forward, and what is important to preserve from the past?
  • Trees are beings that have lived on the landscape next to us for hundreds of years, and have a message to communicate to us.
  • The exhibit will help you realize the complexities and the delicacies of a landscape, appreciate the living environment more, and make you take a second look at the trees around you.
  • Maybe you will be inspired to visit an actual forest, and experience the smell of the earth and the sense of interconnectedness and calmness that comes from being in a healthy forest.
  • The exhibit will be running at the Latcham Art Centre from Friday, January 20 – Saturday, March 4, 2023.
