The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville has formally launched its updated Discover Stouffville tourism brand. The new identity expands on existing assets like its website and social media accounts to showcase and inform prospective visitors and residents about everything the community has to offer.

Calling it a bold new approach, the Town says it is focused on promoting local experiences and driving economic development. The brand, website, and social media channels were originally created by the Stouffville Chamber of Commerce but have since been acquired by the municipality.

The rollout of the updated Discover Stouffville identity will continue in the months ahead through targeted digital and print marketing, visitor-focused campaigns, and special event activations.

Stouffville’s Economic Development team has already been producing social media reels and other content highlighting local businesses, events, and attractions. The revamped Discover Stouffville website now offers expanded visitor information, insights, and a convenient directory of businesses and activities to help plan a trip.

“Our goal with Discover Stouffville is to bring the community to life online in a way that feels authentic and engaging” Cristina Liu, an Economic Development & Tourism Officer with the Town, said in comments to Bullet Point News. “From reels that spotlight local businesses and events, to refreshed web tools that make planning a visit easier, we’re working to connect residents and visitors with all the unique experiences Stouffville has to offer.”

“Every post, video, and campaign is an invitation to discover something new right here at home,” Liu added.

The effort is part of Stouffville’s 2025-2028 Visitor’s Plan, which outlines a five-pronged approach to boosting tourism and growing the visitor economy. The “Connect” pillar aims to unite businesses through collaboration and centralized visitor offerings, while encouraging residents to become local ambassadors. With assets like Discover Stouffville, the “Promote” pillar seeks to equip stakeholders with marketing tools to compete in the visitor market.

The “Develop” pillar focuses on enhancing current events, creating new experiences, and expanding offerings in family, sport, and agri-tourism. “Build” objectives emphasize infrastructure improvements to make the community more welcoming and tourism-ready, including completing Main Street reconstruction, adding public washrooms, and developing a new Downtown parking strategy.

Finally, “Support” goals aim to give businesses and organizations the resources they need for tourism success, such as fostering partnerships with the Town, the Region, and the Greater Stouffville Chamber of Commerce.

According to the Town, the Visitor’s Plan is “focused on developing tourism experiences, growing agri-tourism, revitalizing the historic downtown core, and promoting Stouffville’s natural and cultural assets and its unique location within the Oak Ridges Moraine.”

As part of the brand introduction, Stouffville is launching a contest to highlight experiences and attractions that make Stouffville a destination worth discovering. Prizes include a night at the Days Inn Stouffville and gift cards to StakeOut Restaurant, Corner Spa & Wellness, Reesor’s Market & Bakery, and Village of Stouffville businesses.

To enter, participants must follow @discoverstouffville.ca on Instagram and tag someone “who NEEDS to Discover Stouffville,” with each additional tag counting as a bonus entry. The contest closes Aug. 31, 2025.

“Discover Stouffville represents our renewed commitment to showcasing the best of what our town has to offer, from our historic downtown to our vibrant arts scene, farm-fresh experiences, and natural landscapes within the Oak Ridges Moraine,” Mayor Iain Lovatt stated in a press release today. “It’s about telling our story in a way that invites others to experience the unique rhythm and spirit of our community.”
