Competitive and recreational runners and walkers are encouraged to register for the Fathers Day run along Main Street, which will support the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation.
There will also be a 1K kids event along Park Drive for those age 12 and under.
Early bird registration rates are $45 for the 5K and $25 for the 1K, available until May 15. Registration will then be $55 and $30 from May 16 to June 14
Children up to four years old may register at no cost, and 5K registration for ages 5-12 is $25.
“I want to encourage you all to get out and register,” Mayor Lovatt said. “You can run, you can walk, just make sure you get out and support our hospital.”
All who register by May 15 will receive a medal and t-shirt and be entered into a draw for a family admission package to Canada’s Wonderland, which includes dining, parking, and fast track passes.
Registrants who raise over $250 will be entered into a gift card draw.
