- Nestled within 300 acres off Kennedy Road, Stouffville’s Camp Adventureland has been serving kids from 5 to 16 years of age since 1970.
- Camp Adventureland aims to foster an interest in camping and is an extension of Woodland Trails Scout Camp, which offers overnight outdoor camping experiences to Scouts and community groups from around the world.
- The camp, returning from a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, employs over 60 staff members to entertain campers—including some from Berlin, Amsterdam, and China.
- Participants do not need to be Scouts to register, as Camp Adventureland aims to offer an accessible and affordable experience for all.
- The love of camping is witnessed in the staff. Living on-site for the summer, many have been campers themselves and have worked there for more than 15 years.
- Each week offers a different theme, from Harry Potter’s Magic to Jurassic Park, with each camper receiving a crest depicting their week’s themes and the camp’s mascot.
- The days are filled with sports, swimming, games, mountain biking, a low ropes course, Scouting traditions, and visits to the Tuck Shop for an afternoon treat.
- “The best part of camp is swimming and visiting the Tuck Shop for candy,” shared 6-year-old Jackson.
- Camp Adventureland runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday. Those interested can email adventureland@scouts.ca to learn more and join the waitlist.
