- The Whitchurch-Stouffville (W-S) Swim Club is headed to the 2023 Ontario Youth-Junior Championships at the Pan Am Centre in Markham this weekend.
- The team is experiencing many personal bests working under new head coach Konstantin Danailov, who previously coached the Richmond Hill Swim Club.
- Coach Konstantin took over the role following the retirement of long-time Stouffville coach Nick Rottmann.
- Isaac will be representing the team with the 50m freestyle, 100m butterfly, 100m freestyle, and 100m breaststroke. Paul will be participating in the 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke, and 800m freestyle.
- Danailov helped deliver a new partnership with the Stouffville Leisure Centre, providing W-S swimmers with dry-land training opportunities,
increased pool time, and an extended season. - Antia Chen, a parent volunteer with the team, says Danailov is “a very attentive coach who focuses on all four strokes.”
- “He is firm, but in a positive and supportive way,” Chen added.
- Over 68 swimmers of all ages are members of the growing W-S Swim Team.
