The Whitchurch-Stouffville (W-S) Swim Club is headed to the 2023 Ontario Youth-Junior Championships at the Pan Am Centre in Markham this weekend.
The team is experiencing many personal bests working under new head coach Konstantin Danailov, who previously coached the Richmond Hill Swim Club.
Coach Konstantin took over the role following the retirement of long-time Stouffville coach Nick Rottmann.
Isaac will be representing the team with the 50m freestyle, 100m butterfly, 100m freestyle, and 100m breaststroke. Paul will be participating in the 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke, and 800m freestyle.
Danailov helped deliver a new partnership with the Stouffville Leisure Centre, providing W-S swimmers with dry-land training opportunities,
increased pool time, and an extended season.
Antia Chen, a parent volunteer with the team, says Danailov is “a very attentive coach who focuses on all four strokes.”
“He is firm, but in a positive and supportive way,” Chen added.
Over 68 swimmers of all ages are members of the growing W-S Swim Team.
