The bustling community celebration filled Memorial Park over the Canada Day weekend.
Generous sponsors and hard-working volunteers helped turn Stouffville’s Memorial Park into a bustling community celebration over the Canada Day weekend.
Mayor Lovatt, MPP Paul Calandra, and MP Helena Jaczek served pancakes to the community, with music acts, entertainers, artisan exhibitors, food trucks, inflatables, pony rides, and more providing entertainment to all in attendance.
Kids also enjoyed a petting zoo, mini-train rides, face painting, bubble-blowing, crafting, Doo Doo The Clown, and an open mic.
The Strawberry Festival also launched a green initiative this year, providing water stations throughout the park where guests could refill water bottles instead of purchasing bottled water.
Despite the occasional poor weather over the weekend, events ran smoothly and attendance remained strong.
Notable entertainers included Shania Twin, a well-known Shania Twain tribute artist, and Canadian Folk Music Awards Solo Artist of the Year Julian Taylor.
The Flailing Shilaleighs Band also stood out. The group includes a Stouffville resident and performed their high-energy East Coast and Irish music.
Isabella Hoops, a circus performer out of Toronto, was very engaging and well-appreciated by her young audience.
Stouffville’s Strawberry Festival offers this free family event every year, so anyone who missed out this weekend can look forward to 2024.
