In an upcoming Ontario Land Tribunal appeal, Hyson Developments will contest Stouffville’s decision to deny Official Plan and Zoning By-Law amendments needed to permit a 210-unit building at 5964 Main Street.

York Region Staff have conducted a review of all Regionally owned buildings and lands to identify opportunities for repurposing and more efficient land use. While no feasible buildings were identified, Staff found lands which could be used for additional housing.

While a lack of public parkland remains a sticking point, conditional approvals were granted for five buildings consisting of 800 total units at the northeast corner of Main Street and Highway 48.
