• Through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, the Government of Canada invested over $23 million in the “My Main Street” local business accelerator program.
  • Delivered by the Economic Developers Council of Ontario, the support aims to revitalize Stouffville’s Main Street and its local businesses while furthering post-pandemic economic recovery.
  • With assistance from the Stouffville Chamber of Commerce, ten local businesses were each awarded $10,000:
    • AGI Kitchen & Wine, Candlelight and Memories Gift Shop and Tea Room, Fickle Pickle Restaurant, Foodicyn Alkaline Breakfast Bar, Nature’s Gifts and Organic Spa, Pimento Jerk Restaurant, Red Bulb Espresso Bar, Redefined Finds, Stouffville Florist, True Path Yoga.
  • Agi Guna, Owner and Head Chef of AGI Kitchen & Wine, feels that the grant has helped him a lot since his restaurant is now fully booked on weekends and gets spectacular Google ratings.
  • “I applied for the grant at the right time and I feel very grateful for this opportunity because I know there are other well deserving individuals,” says Marc Neumann, owner of Foodicyn.
  • “As a result of the funding, information, resources, and the hard work and support of our My Main Street Ambassador, Stouffville Village businesses are now better positioned to succeed,” Karen Wootton, Executive Director of the Stouffville Chamber of Commerce, said in a press release.
  • The Honourable Helena Jaczek, Member of Parliament for Markham–Stouffville, recently met with some funding recipients.
