This Remembrance Day may be the second-to-last held at the Legion as the Town plans a new Memorial Park commemorative space for 2026.

After boosting bus service and introducing On-Request Gormley in 2024, York Region Transit will focus on expanding On-Request service in Stouffville and Vandorf as part of its 2025 Annual Plan.

Following today’s approved motion from Councillor Sue Sherban, Town Staff will issue a Request for Tender this fall for infrastructure work required to secure whistle cessation approvals.

Council unanimously approved expansions to local Community Safety Zones, which are established on roadways near public schools and select parks to address dangerous driving behaviours and enhance public safety.

Harrison’s Hope was founded by Mary Byrnes and Caroline Johnson and aims to empower and assist families living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, grow community awareness, and advocate for needed supports.

The group is seeking sponsors for the event, which will benefit the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation.
