- The 707 Marion Orr Air Cadet Squadron is requesting support from the residents of Stouffville for a local fundraising campaign on Saturday, April 22, and Sunday, April 23.
- Cadets will be stationed at Canadian Tire, Dollarama, Main Street Bake House, Metro, and No Frills accepting loose change and cash donations to support squadron efforts and activities.
- For over 10 years, the 707 has been teaching Stouffville’s youth cadets about teamwork, leadership, citizenship, and physical health.
- Beyond training, Air Cadets also focus on aviation activities including flying, gliding, and aerospace studies.
- The Air Cadets program works to instill Canadian military values such as duty, loyalty, integrity, courage, and stewardship while respecting the dignity of all people and serving Canada before self, Commanding Officer Jeffery Langford explained in a media release.
- The 707 is named after Marion Orr, an aviation pioneer and trailblazer not just for women in aviation but for all Canadians, the media release states.
