Starting Saturday, August 19, Metrolinx is adding three weekend morning trains from Old Elm GO to Union Station.
Trains will depart Old Elm, making all stops to Union, at 7:17 a.m., 8:17 a.m., and 9:17 a.m.
Three weekend return trains from Union Station to Old Elm will depart at 6:23 p.m., 7:23 p.m., and 8:23 p.m.
Metrolinx is also adding additional off-peak weekday service, but only as far as Mount Joy GO.
New weekday trains will depart Mount Joy for Union Station, making all stops, at 11:26 a.m., 1:26 p.m., 2:20 p.m., and 3:38 p.m.
Weekday return trains from Union to Mount Joy will depart at 9:13 a.m., 11:02 a.m., and 1:02 p.m.
Some minor weekday schedule changes are also being implemented beginning Friday, August 18:
The train departing Old Elm at 9:17 a.m. will depart 1 minute earlier.
Trips departing Union Station at 3:13 p.m., 4:13 p.m., 6:13 p.m., and 7:13 p.m. will depart 5 minutes later.
Trains departing Union Station at 4:58 p.m. and 5:28 p.m. will depart 5 minutes later.
Two weekday train consists are also changing:
The 5:16 a.m. southbound from Old Elm will now be 6 coaches long.
The 6:16 a.m. southbound from Old Elm will be 10 coaches long.
Bullet Point News reached out to Metrolinx for updates on when weekday off-peak service will return to Stouffville but did not receive a response at the time of publishing.
