- A concerning social media post presenting a potential threat raised safety concerns at Glad Park Public School this morning.
- York Region Police were quickly on site, however an investigation confirmed that no further actions were necessary.
- Trish Dynes, Glad Park’s Principal, ensured families that every reasonable precaution was taken.
- “York Region Police have..confirmed that the social media posts are unsubstantiated,” Dynes explained. “There is no threat to our school or reason to take additional measures beyond our existing safety protocols.”
- “As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring safe learning environments, we take all issues that may affect school safety seriously,” Dynes told families in an email.
- The school has offered supports from YRDSB’s mental health clinicians for anyone negatively impacted by the event.
