Vintage car owners and enthusiasts are invited back to Vandorf on Sunday, Aug. 10, for Stouffville’s 52nd annual Antique and Classic Car Show. The long-standing community tradition, which began in 1973, was a 2024 Festivals and Events Ontario Top 100 award winner.
“The Car Show is the longest running family event in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville,” the Town states. “Averaging an annual attendance of 2000 visitors and more than 400 vintage vehicles, this summertime event offers activities for everyone, including music, food, children’s activities…and the opportunity to explore the Museum’s historic buildings, exhibit spaces, and the beautiful Vandorf Community Park.”
Exhibitors wishing to showcase their vehicle do not need to register in advance and may enter for free. Access is available through the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum’s north gate or via the Vandorf Park entrance. Vehicle entry runs from 9 to 10:30 a.m., with general admission for the public beginning at 11 a.m. The show wraps up at 4 p.m.
Only vehicles manufactured in 1990 or earlier will be eligible for prizes. Cars from 1991 to 2000 may still participate but will be given a “Display Only” card to place on the dashboard. Vehicles made after 2000 are asked to use general event parking and are not part of the exhibition.
This year’s event also offers a wide range of family-friendly programming. The Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum will host tastings of red currant scones while its heritage buildings feature historic activations. A blacksmith will demonstrate traditional metalworking techniques, and the History Snippets team will provide immersive living history interpretations.
Food will be available for sale from several vendors. The Stouffville Lions Club will be cooking up peameal on a bun and hot dogs, with a vegetarian option available. Nun Better will serve souvlaki, and Donkey Kone will offer ice cream treats. Free children’s activities include a scavenger hunt and face painting, and Most Excellent Productions will provide music throughout the day.
The car show features two prize categories: Drivers’ Choice and People’s Choice. Prizes will be awarded to the top five vehicles in each category. The awards ceremony begins at 2:45 p.m. and will be followed immediately by an Exhibitors’ Raffle. Drivers will receive a raffle ticket upon entry and must be present at the draw to claim their prize.
Whether you’re a car enthusiast, history buff, or family looking for a summer outing, the Antique and Classic Car Show is a great reason to spend the day in Vandorf.
