The Stouffville Market is expanding its offerings once again. After introducing a winter market last season, organizer Susan Tucker is launching the new indoor Christmas Market this Saturday at 6240 Main Street.
Running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event includes 45 vendor spaces and will feature many summertime favourites. Tucker said the demand reflects the success of last winter’s markets, as well as an eagerness from residents looking for both festive and local shopping experiences.
“We knew interest would be strong, but filling all 45 spots so quickly tells me people want more opportunities to get out in the community and shop, especially during the holidays,” she said. “I think we have seen that with many of the recent events here in town.”
Shoppers can expect a wide mix of jewellery, décor, clothing, candles, skin care products, 3D printing, resin art, and other handmade goods. “We’ve brought together artisans and creators of every kind,” Tucker said. “Whether you’re looking for a unique Christmas gift or something for yourself, you’ll find it here.”
Food vendors will offer everything from freshly made waffles and baked goods to empanadas. The Market’s community table, which features a new local charity, organization, or cause each weekend, will include Stouffville Girl Guides selling cookies and works from the 55+ Club’s knitting group.
The event also serves as a lead-in to the returning Winter Market series, set for Jan. 10, Feb. 14, March 14, and April 11. “Everyone is welcome, and there’s free parking!” Tucker said.
