York Regional Police are appealing for information after a shooting damaged a home in Stouffville Thursday night.
Investigators with the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team say officers were called just after 9 p.m. on Feb. 12 to reports of gunshots on Harold Avenue near 9th Line. Responding officers located a residence that had been struck by gunfire.
Multiple shots were fired, according to YRP; however, no injuries were reported. Investigators believe the home was deliberately targeted, but do not think the people living there were the intended victims. According to information released today, the current residents had recently moved in.
As the investigation is still underway, police say there is currently no confirmed information available regarding the suspect(s) or a suspect vehicle. Authorities are asking anyone with information, surveillance footage, or dashcam video from nearby roadways around the time of the shooting to contact police.
