Stouffville’s Terry Fox Run Arrives Sunday
Stouffville will host its annual Terry Fox Run this Sunday, coinciding with the 45th anniversary of the beloved national event. The run supports the Terry Fox Foundation, which continues Fox’s legacy by funding important cancer research.
Registration opens at 12 p.m. at Memorial Park, with both 2-kilometre and 5-kilometre routes planned. The mass start begins at 1 p.m., and the community is encouraged to come out and cheer on participants.
As of publishing, more than $50,000 has been raised toward the organization’s $85,000 goal. Teams and individuals can still register online and collect pledges, and donations can be made on the run’s website.
I Love Stouffville Brings Back the Drive-In
Imraz Ramani and his I Love Stouffville initiative are bringing a retro-style drive-in movie night to Timber Creek Golf on Friday night. Families can watch How to Train Your Dragon on a giant outdoor screen, with gates opening at 6 p.m. and the film starting at dusk. The alcohol-free event will feature food trucks, popcorn, ice cream, and children’s activities, with spots available on a first-come basis.
Tickets can be purchased in advance online and will also be available at the gate as capacity allows. Resulting proceeds will be donated to the Stouffville Terry Fox Run in support of its fundraising goal.
Whitchurch-Stouffville Fire and Emergency Services’ Firehall Open House
The town’s firefighters are welcoming the community to Station 5-1, 100 Weldon Road, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The open house will feature family-friendly activities, including fire truck tours, a barbecue, and a chance to meet local crews. Attendees can also test their skills spraying a firehose.
Sustainable Stouffville’s Guided Bike Tour
Sustainable Stouffville, in partnership with the Stouffville Library’s Adventure Zone, will host a guided bike tour on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Riders will follow a 3- to 5-kilometre route, get some exercise, and learn about active transportation.
Families should bring their own bikes and helmets or borrow them from the Library’s Lendery starting at 10 a.m. The event starts from the Adventure Zone in the Leisure Centre parking lot, with registration available on the library website. Twelve spaces remained at time of publishing.
Ontario Hockey League Comes to Town
The Ontario Hockey League will stage a preseason matchup Sunday at the Stouffville Arena, where the Sudbury Wolves will face the Kingston Frontenacs at 4 p.m. The event is being held in collaboration with the Stouffville Spirit and U16AA Clippers.
Tickets will be sold at the door Sunday for $35. Advance tickets are also available for $25 through the Clippers (email) or at the Spirit’s home opener against the Pickering Panthers. That contest begins Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
With more than 800 tickets already sold, organizers expect a capacity crowd. Parking will be limited, and attendees are encouraged to consider alternate transportation.
Treetop Trekking’s Climb for a Cause
Treetop Trekking will host its Climb for a Cause event at Bruce’s Mill on Saturday, collecting food and monetary donations for the Whitchurch Stouffville Food Bank. The event coincides with Hunger Action Month, and 25 percent of Saturday’s ticket sales across all Treetop Trekking parks will be donated to local food banks.
Spaces remain available for Treewalk Village, Uplå, and the Zipline and Aerial Game Trek. Tickets can be purchased online in advance, and visitors are asked to bring non-perishable food items or cash donations to support the food bank.
The Stouffville Market Roars On
The Stouffville Market, a weekend staple and community favourite, has just six dates left in its 2025 season. More than 50 vendors will be on hand at this Saturday’s market, running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the 6240 Main Street parking lot. Shoppers can enjoy local goods, fresh food, and a live performance by The Hand Me Downs bluegrass band.
