Residents will have an opportunity to connect with local healthcare and wellness providers when the Greater Stouffville Chamber of Commerce hosts its inaugural Health and Wellness Symposium on Sunday.

The free event at the Stouffville Legion will bring together businesses and organizations focused on physical, mental, and workplace well-being, while showcasing the range of services available within the community.

Chamber Executive Director Wendy Kadlovski said the symposium was created to raise awareness of local health and wellness businesses.

“You’re going to see everything from dentists to yoga studios, to physiotherapists, and some companies that aren’t necessarily health related directly, but that are interested in being part of a show like this,” Kadlovski said.

In addition to the exhibitor showcase, the day will feature a formal opening program beginning at 10:30 a.m. Kadlovski will welcome attendees before introducing presenting sponsor White Brick Therapy and its founder, Sue Morrison.

The opening ceremonies will also include remarks from Markham-Stouffville MP Dr. Helena Jaczek, who will introduce keynote speaker Mark Fam, President and CEO of Oak Valley Health. Fam will deliver a featured presentation and take questions from attendees before the official opening concludes shortly after 11 a.m.

The Health and Wellness Symposium runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 4, at the Stouffville Legion, 150 Mostar Street. Admission is free.
