- Council recognized contest winner Kaylee Tse for her time spent as “Mayor for the Day.” She read her winning essay and provided the land acknowledgement.
- Micole Rubinoff provided a delegation covering the WS Butterflyway Project and requested a resolution declaring Stouffville as a Bee City. Council asked Staff to prepare the resolution for their next meeting.
- Camile Garzon provided a delegation asking Council to support “Hike for Hospice,” a fundraising event supporting the Margaret Bahen and Doane House Hospices.
- Council began the procurement process for a new $900,000 fire tanker, which was supported through the 2023 budget process and is expected to enter service in 2025.
- A $168,800 contract for a 7.5-ton mini excavator, also approved through the 2023 budget process, was awarded to Strongco.
- Council authorized earthworks at 162 Sandiford Drive, initiating the process for construction of a second building within the Mon Sheong Foundation site.
- Zoning by-law and Official Plan amendments were approved permitting the use of 6482 Bloomington Road as a rehabilitation facility. The owners will utilize the existing home and property, no new development was approved.
- Council supported a motion from Councillor Sue Sherban asking the Town to pass a resolution supporting women and all others facing barriers in politics and endorse Ontario’s Bill 5, the Stopping Harassment and Abuse by Local Leaders Act.
