Marking the return of the Town’s seasonal events calendar, Stouffville’s summer celebrations get underway on Friday, May 16, with a Victoria Day fireworks show in Memorial Park.
The evening will begin at 8 p.m. with live music and food trucks, followed by a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Rain or shine, residents are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the festivities. Memorial Park is located at Burkholder Street and Park Drive, with accessible parking available at the Leisure Centre and across from Latcham Hall.
To accommodate the event, Park Drive between Burkholder Street and the northern entrance of the Leisure Centre will be closed to vehicles from 6 a.m. Friday, May 16, through noon on Saturday, May 17.
Friday evening’s festivities will set the stage for a slate of community events and programming as part of the 2025 Stouffville Celebrates Summer Series. “This year’s line-up is packed with free concerts and events that promise fun, music, and unforgettable moments for residents and visitors of all ages,” said the Town in a Thursday press release.
Among the summer highlights is the return of Stouffville Ribfest, running August 8 through 10 in Memorial Park. The popular weekend event will feature ribbers and other food vendors, amusement rides, and a vendor market. Live entertainment will include Canadian pop-rock singer Fefe Dobson and country artists Nate Haller and Sully Burrows, all hosted by KISS 92.5 producer Maria Papadakis.
Other Memorial Park events include the Strawberry Festival, which returns June 27 to 29. Canada Day festivities will follow on July 1 and will feature live performances, food vendors, and another round of fireworks. The Latcham Art Centre will also host Art in the Park on June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Symphony Under the Stars is returning this year, with the Kindred Spirits Orchestra performing on the Memorial Park bandshell stage from 8 to 10 p.m. on July 18. Movies in the Park will screen family films on July 25 and August 15 at dusk.
Residents and visitors will also have the chance to step inside some of Whitchurch-Stouffville’s landmark buildings, properties, and operations during Doors Open on Saturday, June 7. Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the self-guided event invites participants to explore 17 featured locations throughout the municipality.
Doors Open sites include the Bill Fisch Forest Stewardship and Education Centre, Pickering College’s Blue and Silver Farm, the Richmond Hill Live Steamers, the Whitchurch-Stouffville Food Bank, and the Jean-Baptiste Lainé site. Participants can look forward to behind-the-scenes tours, interactive activities, and historical displays.
The Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum will also participate in Doors Open as it prepares for the 52nd Annual Antique & Classic Car Show on August 10. The Vandorf event will feature more than 400 vintage vehicles, live entertainment, and exhibits.
Free outdoor concerts are also coming to Civic Square, with 19 on the Park hosting its 2025 Patio Series. The lineup includes The Band Caves on June 26, UK Calling on July 17, and The British Invasion on August 14.
“These free events are more than just entertainment—they’re a reflection of our commitment to creating a vibrant, inclusive town where everyone feels welcome,” said Mayor Iain Lovatt in the release. “I invite residents and visitors alike to come out, connect with neighbours, and make the most of summer in Stouffville.”
