Christopher Conlon, a 47-year-old Whitchurch-Stouffville man, is facing multiple charges, including human trafficking and possession of child sexual abuse material, following a joint investigation involving York Regional Police and the Peterborough Police Service.

York Regional Police say the investigation began on April 1 after Peterborough Police received a report regarding a missing female youth. She had allegedly been seen entering a grey sedan.

“Soon after the vehicle was identified, YRP investigators were contacted to assist in locating the vehicle as it was believed to be in the Whitchurch-Stouffville area,” a YRP media release explained.

According to YRP, the vehicle was located at a local residence on April 2. Officers, concerned for the youth’s safety and well-being, entered the home under what police described as exigent circumstances.

Thankfully, the missing child was found safely inside. Two residences associated with Conlon were searched, resulting in him being charged with:

  • Trafficking a person under 18
  • Luring a child under 18
  • Making child sexual abuse and exploitation material
  • Distributing child sexual abuse and exploitation material
  • Possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material

Saying there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward, YRP released Conlon’s photograph. Anyone with information related to the investigation, or who believes they may be a victim, is asked to contact York Regional Police’s Counter Exploitation Unit at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 6800.
