Environment Canada and Ontario’s Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks has ended their Special Air Quality Statement after several days of high-risk, smokey conditions.
Much of Ontario, including York Region, is now experiencing low-risk Air Quality Health Indexes.
Stouffville students had excursions cancelled and were kept indoors for recesses, but schools are now resuming normal outdoor activities and operations.
However, Ontario’s Ministry of Health advises residents to remain alert as air quality can change rapidly in the community.
Updates and additional information regarding province-wide Air Quality Health Indexes can be found here.
