Mayor Lovatt’s motion seeking investigation into reduced minimum parking requirements for future residential development in parts of Stouffville was defeated 3-4.
Councillors Upton, Kroon, Acton, and Sherban were opposed.
Mayor Lovatt and Councillors Smith and Bartley were in favour.
AMPS will aid in by-law enforcement activities and fine collections by moving processing away from Ontario’s court system.

The 2025 Budget development timeline was approved. The Town’s internal process will kick off on June 13 of this year, with Mayor Lovatt tabling the final document on November 6.
Two additional reports were received for information:
The Annual Housing Indicators Marketing Report, which offers demographic data, housing supply information, real estate and rental market data, and an update on the Town’s housing targets
A Memorial Street Name Requests report, which offers updated information regarding the review and consideration of street naming requests meant to honour past residents
A motion from Councillor Rick Upton was adopted, allowing for additional sign permits within the Town’s Temporary Sign By-law.
