• The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville was honoured with three Festivals & Events Ontario (FEO) Top 100 Awards for 2023.
  • The commemorations were bestowed following the success of three major Town events last year:
    • Stouffville Ribfest
    • 50th Annual Antique & Classic Car Show
    • Stouffville Holiday Market
  • FEO is a non-profit organization representing Ontario’s festival and event industries. Over 2,500 Ontario festivals and events fall under FEO’s purview through their membership.
  • Town Staff from Stouffville’s Community Services, Heritage, and Events teams received their recognitions at the FEO Achievement Awards ceremony in Niagara Falls on Wednesday, February 28.

Stouffville’s 2023 Ribfest took place August 11-13, bringing a diverse range of musical performances, BBQ, and amusement park rides to Memorial Park. According to a recent Stouffville press release, over 52,000 people attended, making it Stouffville’s largest annual festival.

The Town’s 50th annual Antique & Classic Car Show was hosted by the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum & Community Centre on August 13. It is the Town’s longest-running annual event, and its golden anniversary saw more than 3,200 visitors in attendance to view over 400 vintage cars.

The 2023 Stouffville Holiday Market drew over 15,000 attendees to Memorial Park on November 24 and 25. The festivities included visits with Santa, holiday light displays, a marketplace filled with vendors, a performance by Tyler Shaw, and much more. Meant to highlight Stouffville as a family destination, it is the Town’s largest winter event.

“Being recognized by Festivals and Events Ontario is the icing on the cake after a record-breaking attendance year for all of these signature events,” said Rob Braid, Stouffville’s Community Services Commissioner, in the press release. “The team works incredibly hard to deliver top-notch, free, and inclusive events in our community,” he added. “By winning these awards, we are shining a light on Stouffville as not only a great place to live and work but also to play and visit.”

Mayor Iain Lovatt congratulated Staff and community stakeholders for their hard work and successes: “I invite our residents to join me in celebrating this milestone as we continue to foster unforgettable experiences for all who call our community home.”
