Garrett played stand up ice hockey until he was 15 years old when he was diagnosed with the same cancer that Terry Fox had. He fell in love with Para Ice Hockey the moment he played it, and eventually went to represent Canada in Para Ice Hockey in Beijing.
Seeing a Para Ice Hockey game, people appreciate how much more coordination and skill is required than stand up hockey.
