- Hackers can hold your personal and business information for ransom.
- Do not pay the ransom since hackers will most likely not return your data. Call the police and/or a security expert.
- People often use the same password for other accounts so hackers will try your password with your email, online banking, online shopping, and social media accounts.
- If you accidently login to an Internet scam, login to the correct company as soon as possible to change your password.
- Use a different password for each account to avoid compromising other accounts if one of them is hacked.
- Save all your passwords in a “password vault” or in Google Chrome.
- Use 2-step verification for your accounts since hackers will not be able to login even with your password unless they also have your phone.
