- The Stouffville Spirit put on a dominant performance against the Pickering Panthers in their afternoon contest on December 19.
- Five Spirit players scored in the 6-0 victory, including David Paglia, Odaro Ewere, Tayjon Street, Lachlan Wells, and Peter Kioussis with two goals.
- When all was said and done, the Spirit had outshot the Panthers 41-20. Goaltender Kyle Downey celebrated the shutout, and David Paglia was awarded the Player of the Game belt.
- Yesterday’s success followed a 4-2 loss to the #6 Lindsay Muskies on Saturday and a 4-1 win over the #4 Markham Royals on Friday.
- As far as OJHL Eastern Conference points go, the Spirit are now tied with the St. Michael’s Buzzers, who are in the #8 spot with one additional game played over Stouffville.
- The Spirit, now 16-11-3, have three remaining games this month: they face the Trenton Golden Hawks in an away contest this Friday, then match up against the Buzzers in back-to-back bouts on December 29 and 30.
- These two games could be crucial in seeing the Spirit regain playoff contention standing, with the December 30 matchup taking place at the Stouffville Arena at 7:30 p.m.
