- The Spirit opened their 2023-2024 Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) season with a 4-3 away win over the Aurora Tigers last night.
- Second-year forward Zac Corte, fresh from training camp with the Soo Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League, scored two goals.
- Team captain Odaro Ewere had a goal and two assists, and linemate Peter Kioussis delivered the fourth.
- Goalie Matteo Gennaro was a crucial part of the team’s victory, as the Spirit were outshot 26-20.
- Alongside a mix of veteran junior players and highly touted rookies, several key members from the 2022-2023 playoff team have returned for what’s sure to be an exciting season.
