Stouffville Spirit lost 4-1 in last night’s game at the Stouffville Arena.
Zach Benayon scored the lone goal, assisted by Ryan Harvey and Cameron Kosurko.
“On the power play Ryan Harvey puts the puck low to me, I walk the net and tuck it low,” says Benayon. “It was a big goal with around 7 minutes left to try and get the boys going.”
Ryan Harvey: “Tough way to end the year but we battled all year round. Young team that turned a lot of heads. On the goal I just sent it low to Benayon and he did the rest. Nice move and good finish.”
Team Captain Odaro Ewere: “It was a very hard fought series in which we showed a lot of character as a team. We would like to thank all the fans and supporters that helped us through the year, and look forward to training camp in August.”
Coach TJ Hill: “Very proud of our players’ effort. We didn’t get the result we wanted but we left it all on the ice and stuck together throughout the series. There was a lot of growth shown this year and we are excited about what the future holds for this team.”
