Seven members of the Stouffville Swim Club have successfully qualified for the 2024 Winter Ontario Festival Championships.
This province-wide competition occurs biannually, welcoming the top swimmers aged 12 and under who have achieved challenging qualifying times across various swimming events.
It is the biggest meet for 12 and under swimmers in Ontario.
Despite falling short of qualifications last year, the team’s dedication and recent progress made under the guidance of new head coach Konstantin Danailov have secured a strong Stouffville presence this year.
These Stouffville Swim Club members qualified for the following events:
Hilary – 50, 100, and 200-meter backstroke, 100m butterfly
Ellie – 50 and 100-meter breaststroke,100m freestyle, 100m medley
Kennedy – 50, 100, 200, and-400 meter freestyle
Alex – 200-meter freestyle, 200m backstroke, 100m and 200m medley
David – 100 and 200-meter backstroke, 800m freestyle, 200m medley
Annabelle – 50, 100, and 200-meter backstroke, 50m freestyle, 100m medley
Matthew – 50 and 100-meter breaststroke, 200m backstroke, 400m freestyle, 100m medley
The 2024 Winter Ontario Festival Championships takes place on February 17 and 18 at the Etobicoke Olympium in Toronto.
