The Whitchurch-Stouffville Legacy Fund Board of Directors, with Mayor Lovatt and his office, recently announced the 2023 Community Impact Awards winners.
Each award is a tribute to remarkable community members who contribute to the spirit and quality of life in Stouffville.
Nominations were submitted by friends, families, and peers, seeking to highlight the local achievements and contributions of their nominees.
Jim Mason will be honoured with the Connected WS award for his efforts in fostering a more inclusive and connected town. His recognition stems from his involvement with Stouffville Cares, the Stouffville Terry Fox Run, and the Little Free Pantry program.
The Creative WS award will be presented to the Street Art Seniors of Stouffville, as well as the Latcham Art Gallery, Margaret Wallace, and Jennifer Onlock. This award acknowledges their contributions to enhancing the town through arts and culture.
Dr. Don Petrie will receive the Healthy WS award for his dedication to promoting healthy and active living in Whitchurch-Stouffville.
Diane Ward and Loops will be given the Generational WS award for her support of the well-being of local children, youth, and seniors.
The Prosperous WS award will be bestowed upon King Cole Ducks for their significant economic contributions to Stouffville.
“From the historic impact of Dr. Petrie on local healthcare to the connections formed through the art of knitting with Loops, these Award winners are most deserving and absolute stars in our community,” Whitchurch-Stouffville Legacy Fund Board Chair Greg Smith said in a recent press release.
The awards will be formally presented at the sold-out Gala #ForStouffville, scheduled for Thursday, September 7th, at Willow Springs Winery.
