Now in its third year, Stouffville’s Heritage Awards showcase the built heritage contributions of local homeowners and businesses.
“A built heritage property is a building, property or constructed remnant that adds to a community’s heritage and identity,” according to the Town’s website.
With approximately 720 Built Heritage Inventory properties throughout the municipality, an award is given to one residential property and one non-residential property.
Award winners are recognized for their work to conserve, restore, and/or adaptively reuse a heritage property.
A nominated property’s architectural significance, historic value, neighbourhood context, and condition will be considered through the review process.
Past Heritage Award winners include 233 Second Street, the Lemonville Community Centre, and the Stouffville Junction, which was once the Mansion House Hotel and is pictured above.
Nominations can be submitted until June 30, 2024, by filling out the Town’s Nomination Form.
