Cyclone Freddy recently hit Malawi’s southern region, the nation’s third cyclone in just over a year, resulting in hundreds of casualties and catastrophic damage to homes, bridges, roads, and agriculture.
“EIC, with their affiliate office EI Malawi, are working together to support the survivors of the cyclone,” Kristy Nowell, EIC’s Public Engagement Director, told Bullet Point News.
“Items like clean water and sanitation, food, shelter, bedding blankets, cups and plates will help those in need,” Nowell continued.
In order to raise funds for their relief efforts, EIC is hosting an indoor yard sale in Stouffville from April 11 to April 13.
Residents can purchase a range of new and used items to support EIC’s mission by visiting their offices at 3967 Stouffville Road between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
