- Bullet Point News has learned that a student from a different school entered Stouffville District Secondary School (SDSS) without permission on March 29.

The individual sneaked into the gym change room during a brief class transition period when the doors were not locked.

He waited for students to leave, then proceeded to steal expensive items including wallets, cash, electronics, headphones, and AirPods.

The culprit was caught by students, however he rushed out before students realized their belongings had been stolen.

Students tracked their AirPods to various locations in Unionville, including what is believed to be the culprit’s residential address.
- Some students took photos of the suspect, and shared them with Bullet Point News.

York Regional Police (YRP) has been notified and were provided with security camera footage.

SDSS Principal Dawn Laliberte said the following in a statement released to parents:
“I would like to reassure you that we take the safety of our students and staff seriously and that we are taking all reasonable measures to address this situation and will review our protocols for entry and exit of change rooms. We will continue to work with York Regional Police and follow their advice for community safety.
We realize that this incident may affect students in different ways, and will offer support to our students through Board mental health professionals as needed. Please outreach to a school administrator should your child require such support.”
