York Region Transit (YRT) is conducting public consultation over their 2025 Transit Initiatives, with some Stouffville service improvements under consideration.
Mobility On-Request Stouffville, which we covered earlier this year, currently connects the bulk of Stouffville’s residents to five established locations seen on the service maps below.
Through their 2025 Transit Initiatives effort, YRT is now proposing the Old Elm GO station as a future On-Request stop.
They also wish to expand weekday On-Request Stouffville service hours for the Stouffville GO and Old Elm GO stations, resulting in all-day transit connections between 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
On-Request Stouffville would also see 30 additional minutes of service for the four other existing stops, operating on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
YRT has also brought forward On-Request Vandorf, shown in the proposed service map below. It would operate within the area bordered by the 404, Aurora Road, Warden Avenue, and Bloomington Road.
On-Request Vandorf would connect riders to and from the Bloomington GO station, SmartCentres Aurora, and the Aurora Carpool lot during weekday rush-hours.
The On-Request Stouffville improvements are being planned for June of next year, with On-Request Vandorf implementation slated for January.
Residents can utilize YRT’s interactive map to offer feedback and suggestions throughout the municipality and beyond.
YRT service planners will be available during an in-person public outreach event today, May 7, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library.
A second in-person consultation event will take place on Monday, May 27, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Stouffville GO station.
