- In a 5-2 vote, Council sided with Staff to deny a sidewalk removal request on Hoppington Avenue and Firbank Lane which sought to increase private driveway parking capacity. Councillor Acton and Mayor Lovatt voted in support of the removal.
- Through a Member Motion from Mayor Lovatt, Council reopened the tank and cenotaph relocation item from December. Staff was asked to bring forward an update report for Council’s June 5 meeting, allowing for potential reconsideration of their initial direction.
- Council voted to approve subdivision plans and Zoning By-Law amendments for a contentious infill development project in the Cam Fella neighbourhood.
- Council also endorsed subdivision plans and Zoning By-Law amendments for the Treasure Hill Stouffville Developments 180-unit project at 5481 and 5551 Bethesda Side Road.
- Through a Member Motion from Councillor Rick Upton aimed at increasing student and pedestrian safety, Council directed Staff to install additional stop signs at Glad Park Avenue and John Davis Gate, converting the intersection to a 4-way stop.
- In June, Staff will provide Council with a report considering the Town matching York Region’s Development Charges deferrals program meant to incentivize purpose-built rental housing.
- A three-year extension of temporary zoning permissions facilitating fill operations at United Soils’ 14245 and 14395 Ninth Line sites was also approved.
