Councillor Sue Sherban has announced the passing of her husband, Peter Robert Sherban, on April 12. The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Expressing thoughts and prayers from all Council members, Mayor Lovatt promptly announced the postponement of this week’s Council meeting.
Known for being a loving husband, proud father, successful landscape architect, and sports fan, Peter Sherban is survived by Sue, their three daughters, and seven grandchildren.
Since the announcement, hundreds of community members have taken to various social media platforms to express their condolences to Sherban and her family.
Visitation is being held at O’Neill Funeral Home today, April 16, from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place at Stouffville United Church from 3-4 p.m. tomorrow, April 17.
Council will hold their postponed meeting on Wednesday, April 24, at 1 p.m.
