- Metrolinx has announced a planned suspension of GO rail service along the Stouffville Line for February 24 and 25, 2024.
- GO Bus Route 71 will be in operation during this time, stopping at Old Elm, Stouffville, Mount Joy, Markham, Centennial, and Unionville GO stations. The bus will then run express to the Union Station Bus Terminal.
- The closure is necessary to facilitate continued construction work along the corridor, including signalling system upgrades needed for double tracking south of Stouffville.
- Regular train service will resume on Monday, February 26.
- Milliken, Agincourt, and Kennedy GO stations will not be served by bus service. Riders looking to access those stations are advised to utilize TTC service.
- Metrolinx has also scheduled additional corridor construction and bus replacement service for the following weekends:
- April 6 and 7
- April 13 and 14
- May 4 and 5
- As usual, Metrolinx recommends that riders check gotransit.com or triplinx.ca to plan their trips, as schedules and connection times have changed due to the switch to bus service.
