- Stouffville Spirit lost 4-1 in last night’s game at the Stouffville Arena.
- Zach Benayon scored the lone goal, assisted by Ryan Harvey and Cameron Kosurko.
- “On the power play Ryan Harvey puts the puck low to me, I walk the net and tuck it low,” says Benayon. “It was a big goal with around 7 minutes left to try and get the boys going.”
- Ryan Harvey: “Tough way to end the year but we battled all year round. Young team that turned a lot of heads. On the goal I just sent it low to Benayon and he did the rest. Nice move and good finish.”
- Team Captain Odaro Ewere: “It was a very hard fought series in which we showed a lot of character as a team. We would like to thank all the fans and supporters that helped us through the year, and look forward to training camp in August.”
- Coach TJ Hill: “Very proud of our players’ effort. We didn’t get the result we wanted but we left it all on the ice and stuck together throughout the series. There was a lot of growth shown this year and we are excited about what the future holds for this team.”
