Over 40 gardeners lined-up early yesterday before the doors opened up at the annual Christ Church of Stouffville Plant Sale on Sunrise Ave.
The organizers were anticipating a few hundred people to visit but within 20 minutes of opening the doors, more than 75% of the plants and gardening implements were sold.
Backyard gardeners were loading up carts and filling their cars with seedlings, cuttings and houseplants to take back to their gardens on the sunny Saturday morning.
This annual event, organized by Gail Wood, has become well known amongst the gardening community and raises funds for the church.
Large unique hostas and succulents were quickly bought-up.
Plants are donated by residents who are splitting up their gardens and want to share plants and flowers that have been successful in their gardens.
