The York Region District School Board (YRDSB) has a $1.6 billion budget impacting over 125,000 students, 213 schools, and 13,000 full-time staff members.
YRDSB’s budget process provides opportunity for parents and guardians to help guide the Board’s funding priorities.
There are two virtual consultation meetings available to the public:
Monday, April 17, at 7:00pm, with registration available here.
Wednesday, April 19, at 7:00pm, with registration available here.
The Board has also invited families and community members to participate in an online budget survey, which is now available here until Wednesday, April 26.
“The consultation process will provide…valuable information about key community priority areas,” Interim Director of Education Scott Yake said. “This is an important step towards ensuring community voice is involved in budget allocations that will continue to support student achievement and well-being.”
Consultation outcomes will be presented at the May 30 Finance and Property Standing Committee, and the final budget will be tabled for approval at the June 20 Board meeting.
