- The modular units that will comprise the Town’s new daycare centre have arrived at 120 Weldon Road.
- The nine structures are currently standing on stilts in the Clippers Sports Complex parking lot. They will be combined to create the single-storey facility.
- According to the Town, the daycare will be located in an unused parcel of the property north of the Clippers Complex and west of the northern portion of the parking lot.
- Stouffville is now soliciting proposals from potential operators, and the Request for Proposals (RFP) process is set to close on August 15, 2024.
- With the project still in its early stages, an estimated opening date has not been set.
“The RFP process is ongoing,“ Town spokesperson Cassandra Papas told Bullet Point News. “Following the bid closing, we will enter a phase of bid reviews, potential operator interviews, and contract awards.”
Papas also elaborated on why an opening timeline has not yet been identified, saying “several variables still need to be addressed, including finalizing an agreement with the chosen operator and completing necessary construction details.”
“Rest assured,” Papas added, “we are committed to advancing this project as efficiently as possible to meet the community’s needs.”
