Residents have been shocked by water bills following installation of more sensitive Neptune meters.
The new meters catch small leaks not always seen by the previous units, which can lead to very expensive and often surprising bills.
Thankfully, ratepayers will soon have an online portal showing their real-time water usage.
This “will help residents monitor water consumption at home or away and avoid costly leaks,” Brian Kavanaugh, Director of Public Works, told Bullet Point News.
“[The portal] will also allow residents to set and receive leak alerts,” Kavanaugh said, assisting in limiting water waste and threat of extreme bills.
Residents can expect this portal to go live in the coming months.
